Access to nutritious food and education about healthy eating are essential for preventing and managing chronic conditions, improving well-being, and ensuring long-term health. Medicaid Diabetes Prevention Program (CDC MDPP)
We are proud to offer the CDC-recognized Medicaid Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP), designed to help individuals with pre-diabetes reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 58%.
Our first year-long cohort successfully completed 22 classes, and we are preparing to launch another session soon. This program is one of the few available in Staten Island, with BCCHC and RUMC being among the only providers. While we anticipate continued support for this program, we are monitoring policy changes that may impact its future availability
Mobile Market Food Distribution Program
Currently on Hiatus
In partnership with City Harvest, we provide fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families in Staten Island’s North Shore who struggle with food insecurity. Unfortunately, this program is currently on hiatus due to logistical challenges in securing a suitable delivery location. We are actively working to resolve this and will provide updates when the program restarts.
